Manage Roles
Assigning variable Page permissions to User Roles is a key feature of Nestor. The Admin Role is created when Nestor is installed, you get to create other Roles based on how you would like to differentiate your users. Roles are managed on the Manage Site page, which shows a list of all existing Roles as well as how many users have been assigned this role.
Site Roles
Create a New Role
- Open the Manage Site interface from the main Admin page
- Scroll down the page below the Site Properties and past existing Roles
- Click the Add Site Role bar
- Enter the name of the new Role
- Enter a number for the Role Hierarchy. This will determine the order in which this Role appears when there is an option to select roles.
- Click the Add New Site Role button to save the role
Update a Role
- Click the bar showing the name of the Role you want to update
Properties of a Site Role
- Enter a new name or select a new Role Hierarchy
- Click the Update button
- Click Reset to return to the original values (from the time you expanded this Role)
Delete a Role
- Click the bar showing the name of the Role you want to update
- Click the Delete button
